Further to my comments about ZKAUL Auster j/l autocrat photograph ; to be more explicit Peter Rowley was a reconnaissance pilot in the Pacific islands in the Second World War . After the war he managed a government experimental farm neighbouring my fathers farm six miles inland from TImaru .Together they bought ZK. AUL and mounted an aerial camera within the passenger door and photographed farms all over NZ in the early 1950s always taking note of roof colours etc [no coloured photos then ] .The photos were then professionally coloured in at Bremfords studios in TImaru and offered personally to each farmer - most buying as it coincided with the early 50s wool boom. They called themselves Auster air views .Is ZKAUL still about. ?
