Ross Baker, Maker
Three fibreglass and resin moulds for casting the left and right hand inner guards. Two L shaped mould with perpendicular arms and one flat mould with two openings. Each L shaped mould also has two openings, one on each side of bend. Grey fibreglass residue on outside.The left mould is fitted with piece of wooden bracing at the end of both the short and long arms and also alongside the central opening on the long arm side. The right mould has one piece of wooden bracing fitted alongside opening on long arm side. The flat mould has two openings and two wooden cross bracings fixed on the grey side either end of the openings. "Prototype" is written in black marker along the central indentation of the flat mould. Part of set of black resin (interior) and grey fibreglass (exterior) moulds used to fabricate the exterior body and interior components of the Heron MJ1Sportscar in 1980. The moulds were made from wooden "plugs" that formed the basic outline of the vehicle. The moulds were made and designed by Heron vehicle designer Ross Baker in 1980.
