A letter dated 29 November 1979. Mentions disappointment that Jean Batten book tour for 'Alone in the sky' was cancelled because Mackenzie was hoping to meet Batten and thank her for the gesture of flying around 'Jean Batten Peaks' and dropping a Union Jack and New Zealand flag on the highest peak. Mentions Mackenzie's father Colonel Peter Mackenzie wanting to name the peaks after Batten's record flight in 1936 as well as after the trip taken by Colonel Mackenzie, Jay Mackenzie and Batten to visit Lake Wakatipu and Greenstone River in 1935. Mentions a trip to Queenstown by Jay Mackenzie, promotion of Batten's book and contact details for Jay Mackenzie if Batten plans to visit Dunedin.
